Handball and FTW

Sometimes I love my unbelievable interesting Saturdays (maybe it even could be the best day in my whole colourful week?). My boyfriend thinks that for me all days are the same, because I'm unemployed, everytime I woke up, I can do, what I want, but... no! Saaaaturdays are sooo special. My mind, body and mood know, that something exciting will happen. THIS Saturday was full of action.
My friend called me and asked, do I want to see the handball match, where plays her husband (he's goal keeper). Hallelujah! Of course. There is no answer NO. YES. I like sport live and I was there on time.

Ruislip Eagles vs Olympia 24-23. Big game - big results. Do I need to say, why am I happy? Win is sweet thing, before it you get adrenaline, a little bit stress, worries, intrigue and motion.

Ruislip Eagles was high-class. The best, what I liked, was team work: not to much pressure or force, no anger, just support and friendliness. Ahh... and my lucky friend's face, when brilliant match ended. Go-go, RE.
After we jumped in pub. It's part of game and all that know. Pint of Guiness beer, some strong food to take energie and callories back (I didn't mean myself).

FACT: RUISLIP EAGLES IS WINNER OF THE ENGLAND HANDBALL CUP 2010

Yesterday's meal

I did test "How healthy is your relationship with food?" and I'm happy with the result: YOU PICKED MOSTLY BLUE STATEMENTS. Not bad! You've got a pretty balanced diet, which means you must feel fantastic, reaping all the benefits of the food you're packing away. 'Well done, you seem to have the right outlook on life - healthy, but not obsessive. Don't forget to treat yourself once in a while, though!' says eatwell nutritionist Sam Montel.
I think, that for creating your opinion about health and diet important is/was your family. I remember my mother's words "always check twice, what you are putting in your mouth". I love her for all those advices, which she gave me. Junk food is not for me. I never cooked, when I lived with my parents, even never tried to watch, how the process is going. And time goes really fast, after all soon or later most of us are standing in kitchen and preparing breakfast or lunch. That's not bad, it is huge experience, because you can decide your (...)

Inspired by Greek Cuisine

Two weeks ago I had a fascinating homework - to present a Greek dish called Souvlaki with Tzatziki. It was new experience not just to talk to audience, but after all to work in kitchen and try to make something experimental and never tasted. With a little bit creativity, wish and curious my day became much more fun and tasty! Instead of Souvlaki I decided to express myself and make Aegean pitta pockets. I was surprised, that it requires a lot of ingredients, but after first mouthful understood - yummy - no worries.
Relax, turn the music on and enjoy cooking!

Ingredients
100g/3½oz pork, trimmed and cubed
1 red and 1 green pepper, de-seeded and cubed
½ lemon
2 tbsp olive oil
2 pinches dried oregano
salt and pepper
1 avocado
6 tomatoes
half a cucumber
200g/7oz feta cheese
handful of kalamata olives
4 pitta breads

Preparation method
1. Thread the pork and peppers onto skewers and lay in a shallow bowl. Pour over the lemon juice, olive oil and add oregano, salt and pepper. Leave to marinade overnight if possible.

2. To cook the kebabs simply place onto a warm griddle and cook until brown on all sides.
3. Meanwhile, cube the avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, feta and stone the olives, mix together in a large bowl.
4. To serve, place the pitta breads in a warm pan to heat through on both sides. Remove and slit the top of the pitta.
5. Remove the pork and peppers from the skewers and stuff into the pitta, add some salad and drizzle with some tzatziki.
Easy like 2x2.

From now on Tzatziki is one of the best sauce I ever savoured - smooth, creamy, light, refreshing, delicious and easy to make (it will take just 3 minutes).
Ingredients
½ cucumber, peeled and finely diced
1 tbsp white or red wine vinegar
salt and freshly ground black pepper
150g/5oz thick Greek-style yoghurt
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp fresh mint, finely chopped

It's finger licking good, believe me!

My last holiday

It was like yesterday. The last holiday I had during the summer (this year, thank God). I went to my parents, because I missed them so much. I hadn't realised, how important it is to hug and be hugged. When I saw them, I was crying of joy. I knew, that I had just three weeks to enjoy time being near them. Time went really fast, but we tried to spend every minute doing things, which weren't so powerful or impressive before.
Around my home city there are a lot of beautiful and stunning lakes: the best places to relax, have fun and remember about your childhood. Playing volleyball, fishing, swimming, having barbecues, lying in sun, talking and playing boardgames - it's all you need to be excited.
Evenings were like a dream, we used to sit and watch TV or fascinating films, enjoyed discussing and laughing  together again. My father loves to make funny comments, when famous people, especially politicians, appear on the TV. I like his opinions and how he express them. Sometimes it even makes me more aware, to have idea about what is going around me.
Why do women love to go shopping? Usually I'm not interested in looking over and ransacking among clothes placed on shelves and hangers, but this time I was ready for visiting every boutique or store in town. My mother is expert here, she has a good eye and I was obviously happy buying new gear

And of course I musn't forget mentioning my dog, which is old, but still active, energetic and immature. Because of that lucky guy, I couldn't take a break, it always wanted to be in spotlight or play. I wasn't forced to run or roll around in the grass with him, but I must be honest - after long and vigorous games I was feeling tired.
I'm grateful to my family for having such happy time. Looking forward to have another awesome holiday with them.
